Mom's Winter Soup


This one's a game changer. Trust me.

4 boxes sliced mushrooms

5 cans quartered artichoke hearts

2 medium white onions, chopped

5 cans chicken broth

1 pint 1/2 & 1/2

1/2 cup sherry

12 tbs flour

1 1/2 sticks butter

Melt butter, saute shrooms, chokes, & onions until translucent.  Stir in flour to thicken for a couple minutes. Add chicken broth and cream and sherry. Bring to a boil and season to taste with salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, and tabasco. Put in fridge overnight and serve next day with a grilled cheese sandwich while listening to Carole King's demo of "Pleasant Valley Sunday."
